Num Num, aşağı yukarı ayda bir kere ziyaret ettiğimiz bir yer. Num Num dediğimizde aklımıza önce kocaman ve çok lezzetli burgerleri, dev pizzaları ve ev yapımı harika içecekleri geliyor.
Dekorasyon rahat etmenizi, gözünüz bara takıldığında gülümsemenizi sağlarken, ışıklandırma gözünüzü kesinlikle yormuyor ve tahta panellerin arasından sızan yeşil ve kırmızı hafif ışıklar tuhaf bir şekilde çok huzurlu hissetmenizi sağlıyor. Garsonlar her zaman güleryüzlü ve işlerini sevdiklerini size hissettiriyorlar. Halkla ilişkiler sorumluları ise aynı şekilde çok güleryüzlü, mutlu ve son derece yardımcılar. Hatta bazen sizi üzen birşey olduğunu fark edip, bir şekilde sizi dolaylı yoldan gülümsetmeyi başarıyorlar.
Sanırım artık yemeklerden bahsetme vakti… Şimdiye kadar Num Num’da lezzeti kötü birşeye hiç rastlamadık. Geçen yaz terasta bir öğlen makarna yerken alıştığım dev porsiyonların aksine ufak bir porsiyon makarna yemiş olmamın dışında hiç hayal kırıklığı yaşamadım. Bu durumun ardından birer dilek & şikayet formu doldurduk ve bir hafta içinde doldurulan formlara özel yazılmış olduğu belli olan birer cevap e-postası aldık. Açıkçası bu kadar ilgileneceklerini hiç düşünmemiştik. E-postada porsiyonlarla ilgileneceklerini yazmışlardı ama henüz tekrar denemeye cesaret edemedim çünkü oraya her gittiğimizde gözümüz açlıktan dönmüş oluyor.
Hala yemeklere gelememişim… Bu sefer Blue Bacon Cheeseburger, Egeli Salata (kocaman boy), elmalı buzlu çay (ev yapımı) ve Efes Dark vardı siparişlerimizde. Sevgili Kral’ım cheeseburgerin en az İstanbul Num Num kadar lezzetli olduğunu, tek farkının mavi peynir sosunun akışkanlığı olduğunu soyledi. Beraberindeki coleslaw'a (lahanalı bir çeşit salata) kendi salatamdan bir çatal aldıktan sonra baktığımda ise yerinde yeller esiyordu… Ardından gelen yorum ise, ‘buradakini yedikten sonra coleslaw heryerde yavan geliyor’ şeklinde oldu. Sevenlere duyurulur… Gelelim benim salatama, heryerde ezine diyerek pazarlama girişiminde bulunulan uyduruk peynirlerden değildi tabiki salatamdaki… Tam yağlı, yumuşacık, tadı tam kıvamında ezine peyniri hafif fesleğenli ve zeytinyağlı bir sosla marine edilmişti. Akdeniz yeşilliklerimin üzerinde ise çok lezzetli fakat buna rağmen hala hafif kalmiş bir sos... Her ne kadar bu salata soslari, o masum otlari bir porsiyon kebap kalorisine yaklaştırsada bu salatadaki lezzet bileşkesi kesinlikle sizi pişman edecek türden değil. Sırada, buzlu çay... Ben hazır meşrubatlardan pek hazetmediğimden, genellikle ya su/soda yada taze meyva sularını tercih ediyorum. Bu durum Num Num’da tabi ki değişiyor. Onlar harika taze meyva suyu karışımlarının yanısıra, buzlu çay konusunda da oldukça başarılılar, az şekerli olmaları da cabası. Henüz yaza biraz daha vakit olduğundan herzamanki kırık buzlu versiyonunun yerine az buzlu istedim. Kesinlikle hata etmişim, bu adamlar işlerini biliyor ve gerçekten hiç karışmamak kesinlikle en iyisi. Önünüze gelecek şey zaten mümkün olan en mükemmel halinde oluyor her zaman… Tüm bu saydıklarıma ek olarak bir de su içtik ve toplam hesap 50.25 TL oldu. Servis, yemeklerin malzeme kalitesi, lezzeti gibi tüm faktörleri göz önüne aldığımızda ve fiyat/performans oranlaması yaptığımızda, 1’e eşit yada 1’den küçük çıkar. Henüz gitmeyenlere en kısa zamanda uğramalarını tavsiye ediyoruz. Her zamankinden biraz fazla aç gitmenizde fayda var, yada baştan tamamını bitiremeyeceğinizi kabullenebilirsiniz .
We visit Num Num about once a month. When we think of the place, first things that pop in our mind are their huge and delicious burgers, XL pizzas and house drinks.
Decoration makes you feel comfortable, when the bar catches your eye, you smile reflexively. Lighting is never tiring and little red and green lights coming from the wooden wall panels make you feel surprisingly more tranquil. Waiters / waitresses are always smiling and you can feel that they love their job. Guest relations personnel are as well debonair, happy and helpful. Even when they feel you are a little sad, they find a way to cheer you up.
I guess it is time to start talking about food… Until today we never had something tasting savorless at Num Num. Last summer, while we were having lunch at its magnificent terrace I ordered a pasta plate, which was unusually small, that was my only disappointment. Following that, we filled out request & complaint forms and within a week they e-mailed us back. We never thought they would take the forms this serious. It was very obvious that the e-mails were written as an answer for the specific forms and said they would take care of the portioning. However, I never tried a pasta plate again, as I was always too hungry when I went there.
I still couldn’t talk about the food… This time we ordered Blue Bacon Cheeseburger, Aegean Salad (huge size), Apple flavored ice-tea (house) and Efes Dark (beer). My dear King told me cheeseburger was at least as good as İstanbul Num Num and the only difference was the cheese sauce being a little less thick. The coleslaw was gone while I tasted the salad… The comment was ‘after having this coleslaw, others are insipid’. My salad had a feta topping, but it is a special type of feta produced at the North-West of Turkey (Ezine feta). It was also marinated with basil and olive oil sauce. On my mixed green salad there was the most delicious but still light salad dressing I have ever tasted. Although salad dressings turn the innocent greens into calorie bombs, you will never regret eating this one. Next, is the apple flavored ice-tea. As I don’t like most of the colorful and tasteless beverages, I prefer water (still / sparkling) or fresh juices. However, at Num Num things are different. Apart from their wide range of fresh juice mixes, they also prepare great ice-teas with very little sugar. As there is still some time until summer, I preferred to have my ice-tea with a few cubes of ice rather that crushed ice. That was big a mistake; these guys absolutely know what they are doing, so it is better if you don’t intervene. What they serve is already in its best form possible… In addition to what I have mentioned, we had a small bottle of still water and the bill was 50.25 TL (~ 34 $). Considering the service, quality and taste, the price/performance ratio is smaller than or equal to 1. If you haven’t dined at Num Num yet, we strongly suggest it. It is better if you go there when you are hungry or you should admit you will not be able to finish all of your plate before you start
